Annual Tax Convention

Tuesday, August 20 – Randy Adams, EA, MSA

Randy manages two accounting offices near Des Moines IA. He has been preparing taxes since 1992 and has been an instructor since 2011. He really enjoys meeting with fellow tax preparers and has traveled to many states to discuss the many changes in Federal taxes. When not working or out on the road instructing, he enjoys hiking in the National Parks or biking the many trails throughout Iowa.

Wednesday, August 21 – Dan Pilla, EA, USTCP (admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court)

Dan Pilla has more than 40 years of experience in representing individuals and businesses in audit and collection cases before the IRS and the U.S. Tax Court. He has seen every kind of tax case you can imagine and believes there’s no such thing as a hopeless tax case.

He has written 14 books, several dozen of research reports on tax law and tax policy issues, and over 1,000 articles for his newsletter, as well as for national magazines and trade journals. His newsletter, Pilla Talks Taxes, has been in continuous circulation since 1988. He has done more than 6,000 radio, TV and print interviews.

Dan is a USTCP (admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court), an Enrolled Agent, and is authorized to provide the Alternative Dispute Resolution in MN court cases. Dan was a consultant to the National Commission on Restructuring the IRS and testified before Congress on several occasions. He is the executive director of the Taxpayers Defense Institute, a national association of tax professionals in defense of taxpayers’ rights.
